    By Car
    Lindholme Hall is easily accessible by car. Set your navigation to Lindholme Hall, Doncaster, DN7 6DT, UK. We are conveniently located near the M18 motorway, making it a straightforward drive from most locations in the UK. If using sat nav, please make sure to choose the route via Hatfield Woodhouse.


    By Train
    The nearest train station is in Doncaster, which has excellent connections to various parts of the country. From the Doncaster station, you can take a taxi to Gomde UK—a journey of about 20 minutes. Please check local taxi services in advance to ensure availability.


    By Bus
    Local bus services can be limited, but if you prefer to travel by bus, check for routes that serve the area around Hatfield Moor. Planning is key, as services may vary, especially on weekends and holidays.


    By Air
    For those coming from farther away, the nearest major airport is Leeds Airport. Upon arrival, you can take the train, hire a car or take a taxi to reach us.


    We recommend checking your travel arrangements and road conditions before departing, especially during the winter months or when local events might affect traffic. Should you need further assistance with directions or transport options, please do not hesitate to contact us. 

  • We kindly request that you aim to arrive before 4pm so that we can help you settle into your accommodation and provide a brief induction.

     

    To ensure our centre runs smoothly for all who visit, please arrive only on the specified Arrival Day.

    Departure time is between 7am-12 noon on Departure Days.

  • Should you need to cancel your retreat booking, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. We will offer a full refund if the cancellation is made two weeks prior to the planned start date of the retreat.

    • Water-proof shoes that are easy to slip on and off (for entering & leaving the communal buildings easily)

    • Slippers (for using inside your accommodation)

  • Meals at Gomde are exclusively vegetarian and lovingly prepared by our dedicated team of volunteer chefs. We prioritise the use of fresh produce from our own organic vegetable garden whenever possible. We value communal meals and strive to dine together as a sangha at designated times. For those on solitary retreats, we offer support with the delivery of weekly food orders, and each cabin is equipped with a small kitchenette for your convenience.

  • During group retreats, we encourage all members of our sangha to embrace the Dharma of Service by taking part in essential activities that support our community. Each retreatant will be allocated a specific role, providing a valuable opportunity to apply the teachings of interdependence and kindness in practice. Such involvement not only contributes to the harmonious functioning of our group endeavour but also fosters a spirit of support and community spirit.

  • Our daily schedule at Gomde UK varies depending on the season, the type of retreat, and whether a monastic teacher is present. Participants are typically involved in two practice sessions each day. When our resident Lama Öser or another teacher from our monastic Sangha is available, there may also be additional teachings and opportunities for personal consultations.

    Additional activities include:

    • Weekly Monday Meditation Groups at 7:30 PM.

    • Special Practices on Dakini and Guru Rinpoche days, in accordance with the Tibetan calendar, featuring group practice and Tsok.

    • Monthly Events, such as Sutra recitation and study days.

  • Please refer to the Retreat Programme to find more information on the arrival and departure day for each specific retreat.

     

    Most retreats offer a stay from one week to three weeks. It is also possible to visit just for the day (i.e not to stay overnight in Gomde UK) to attend many of our group practices and events.

    If you wish to extend your stay once you are in, please email info@gomde.uk or speak directly with us to enquire about this option, as it will depend on the time of year and availability. If there is space, we will look to accomadate your request.
